Atlas VTT

Make your first collection

Create a collection for your campaign and choose its game system.

Before you build scenes, give your campaign its own collection and set it up for the game you play.

What a collection is

A collection holds the scenes, maps, tokens and encounters of one campaign or adventure. Each collection is a folder in your vault, with the same name as the collection.

A collection also has its own game rules, which decide how Atlas measures distances and which conditions your tokens can have.

Atlas starts with one collection, named Default. You can play in it, but a collection per campaign keeps things tidy.

Create the collection

  1. Open the Asset Manager: press A on the map, or click Asset Manager on the dashboard.

  2. Click the + button at the top right and choose Create Collection.

Create Collection in the + menu of the Asset Manager.
  3. Type a Name for the collection, for example the name of your campaign.

  4. Under Game system, choose one:

    • No game system: default measurement and no conditions.
    • A ready-made system: Daggerheart, D&D 5e, Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk RED, Old-School Essentials, Pathfinder 2e or Shadowdark.
    • Create your own: set up your own rules. Click Next to do this. See Game system presets.
The New collection dialog with a name and a game system.
  5. Click Create collection.

Atlas opens your new collection in the Asset Manager, and its name now shows under Collection on the left.

Switch between collections

Click the collection name under Collection on the left. Choose another collection from the list, or All Collections to see everything.

Switch to another collection in the Asset Manager.

New maps, scenes and tokens go into the collection that is open.

Change the rules later

You can change the game system at any time. Click the gear button next to the collection name (Collection settings). See Collection settings.
