Scene snapshots
Save the state of a scene and return to it later, for example before an encounter.
A snapshot saves a scene as it is now, so that you can reset the scene to that state later. It keeps the tokens, pins, fog, drawings, initiative and everything else on the map.
Each scene has its own snapshots. To use a group of tokens in other scenes, save it as an encounter. See Save and spawn encounters.
Open the snapshots
Press Space to open the command palette.
Click Scene snapshots. The Scene Snapshots panel opens and shows the snapshots of the current scene, newest first.

Save a snapshot
Set up the scene the way you want to keep it. For example, place the monsters and cover the rooms with fog.
In the Scene Snapshots panel, click New snapshot. Atlas saves the scene with a picture of the map and a name like "Snapshot 1".
Save a snapshot before the encounter starts. Click the name to rename the snapshot. Press Enter to keep the new name.
Restore a snapshot
In the Scene Snapshots panel, click the picture of the snapshot.
Click Restore to confirm. The scene goes back to how it was in the snapshot.
