The DM screen
Press Tab on a map to see your adventure note beside the statblock of every creature on the map.
The DM screen is a panel that opens over the map. Its left side shows the statblocks of the creatures on the map, and its right side shows the scene's own note. It stays out of the player view, so only you see it.
Open and close it
Press Tab on a map. Press Tab again to close it, or click the dimmed map around the panel.
To use another key, change DM screen in the hotkeys of Atlas' settings. See Map hotkeys.
Give the scene a note
Each scene can have one note of its own. Use it for the text you read from at the table, like room descriptions and what happens next.
Open the DM screen. The right side says Link a note to this map.
Type part of the note's name in Search notes.... Without a search, Atlas lists the notes you changed last.
Click the note, or choose it with the arrow keys and press Enter.
Atlas saves the note with the scene. You can read and edit it in the DM screen: click into the note to type. While you type, Tab belongs to the note. Press Esc to leave the note, then Tab closes the DM screen again.
Above the note, Open note in new tab opens it in its own Obsidian tab. Link a different note takes the note away so you can pick another one, and the note itself stays in your vault.
See every statblock on the map
The left side shows one statblock for each kind of creature on the map, so three goblins share one goblin statblock.
A token shows here when it is linked to a statblock. See Use Fantasy Statblocks with Atlas. If no token on the map has one, the left side says No statblocks currently in use on this map.
Change hit points
Under each statblock is a list of its tokens on the map. Each one has a name and a number, like Goblin #2, the same number as on the token's badge on the map.
Beside the name is the token's hit point bar. Click − to take one hit point away and + to give one back. The bar on the map changes at the same time.
Some game systems show boxes to tick in place of a bar. Tick a box to mark a point.
For the turn order of a fight, see Track initiative.
Jump to a creature
Point at a token's name in the list, and Atlas highlights that token on the map. Click the name to close the DM screen and move the map to the token.
