Atlas VTT

Terms of use

The rules for the Atlas account and the Armarium. Version 2026-10-08.

Who we are

Atlas VTT is run by Fabian Urbanek (“we”). These terms apply when you make an Atlas account and use the services on atlas-vtt.dev that need one, such as the Armarium.

The Atlas VTT plugin for Obsidian is free software. Its licence (AGPL-3.0) governs it, not these terms. How we handle personal data is in the privacy notice.

Free of charge

The account and the Armarium cost nothing, and nothing is sold under these terms. Should we ever offer something for money, it comes with terms of its own that you accept separately.

Your account

  • You must be 16 or older.
  • An account belongs to one person. Do not let anyone else sign in with it, and keep your email inbox and your passkeys safe.
  • Your display name and handle may not pretend to be someone else, insult anyone or hold contact details. We may reset a name or handle that does.
  • If someone else used your account, tell us at support@atlas-vtt.dev.

What you post

You may post reviews and replies, and share collections where the Armarium lets you. You keep every right to what you post.

You give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, copy, show and make available what you post, on atlas-vtt.dev and in Atlas apps, for as long as it is published. It includes changing the form where the service needs it, for example making smaller images or checking and rebuilding a collection’s files. The licence ends when you delete what you posted or your account. Copies that others downloaded before stay theirs under the licence you chose for a collection, backups hold it until they expire after 35 days, and we keep reports and our decisions about it for as long as the privacy notice says.

A collection you share carries the licence you choose for it. That licence is between you and the people who download the collection.

Your promise

You post only what you made yourself or have the right to share, and nothing that breaks the law or another person’s rights. Collections follow the rules for sharing. Content that breaks this promise is removed, and you answer for it under the law.

Reviews

  • Only someone who downloaded a collection while signed in to their Atlas account can review it, once per account. That is the check we make. We do not check whether they played it.
  • Write about your own experience. Do not review your own work, review for a reward, or review through a second account.
  • The creator of a collection can reply to a review but cannot hide it. We hide reviews that break these terms or the law.

Reports and moderation

Anyone can report content on atlas-vtt.dev that they believe is illegal or breaks these terms, by writing to support@atlas-vtt.dev. Name the address of the content, explain the problem, give your name and email address, and confirm that you believe in good faith that your report is accurate and complete. We confirm that it arrived and tell you what we decided.

When content or an account breaks these terms or the law, we may:

  • hide or remove the content;
  • turn off single things an account may do, such as sharing, reviewing or changing its profile, for a time or until we lift it;
  • suspend the account, or delete an account that exists only to break the rules.

We choose the mildest step that is enough, and suspend at once only in serious cases. Someone who keeps breaking the rules can no longer share or post. A person looks at every case. We email you a statement of reasons: what we did, the facts, the rule or law it rests on, how long it lasts, and how to object. To object, reply to that email or write to support@atlas-vtt.dev, and we look at the case again. You can also go to court.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time on your account page. We may end your account with four weeks’ notice by email, for example when we stop the service, and you can download your data before it ends. We may end it at once for a serious breach of these terms.

Availability

We keep the services running as well as we can, but they are free and may be down at times. We may change or remove features. Before we stop a service that holds your posts, we tell you four weeks ahead.

Liability

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. Because the services are free, we are not liable for slight negligence otherwise, as German law provides for things given free of charge (§§ 521, 599 BGB).

What you post on atlas-vtt.dev is a copy. Keep your own originals.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when we add or change a service, when the law changes, or to stop abuse. We email you about a new version before it applies, and ask you to accept it the next time you sign in. Until you accept, you can still sign in, download your data and delete your account, but not post. If you do not want the new terms, delete your account.

Law and courts

German law applies. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the laws there that cannot be set aside by contract.
