Update

Atlas VTT 0.11.0

Mosaic Canvas, procedural forest maps and new crayon style

New

New Feature: Mosaic Canvas

  • Maps of up to 1,000 megapixels and 65,535 pixels a side, up to 20 million squares in one scene. Atlas now works with maps roughly seven times the largest maps other virtual tabletops take
  • No megabyte limit: a 200 MB map or a 2 GB one imports as it is, and every pixel is kept
  • How it works: Atlas reads the map once and cuts it into tesserae using pyramid tiling, small lossless tiles laid in a pyramid from a thumbnail of the whole map down to every pixel of the original. The scene opens within seconds and sharpens as the finer tesserae are cut
  • Processing indicator shown in the asset manager

New Feature: Forests

  • The dungeon generator makes forests: clearings joined by glades, lone trees for cover, brooks, rivers, lakes and roads
  • Multi-level forest maps use caves as underground levels

New Feature: Crayon Style

  • New default style for all generated map types: pencil lines and hatching on vellum, coloured in with wax crayon

General

  • Graphics settings page in the command palette: three quality presets as tabs
  • Dice volume in Atlas' settings; slide it down to turn dice sounds off. Contributed by ISorokaI

Improved

  • Optimised grid drawing with Mosaic Canvas
  • Saver lighting quality runs smoother on low-power machines
  • Improvements to Dynamic Lighting performance and visuals
  • Russian translation of online play, native statblocks, the template editor, random tables, campaigns, the dungeon generator, scene levels and the dice lab. Contributed by ISorokaI

Fixed

  • Widgets that do not fit beside the scene tabs stack in the map's corner instead of covering the initiative tracker
  • Create scenes from several selected maps at once
  • Fixed a bug where a deleted scene would re-appear
  • The number badge on look-alike tokens no longer grows past the token on a very fine grid
  • Menus in Edit Token open at their button. Contributed by ISorokaI
  • A pinned statblock scrolled down can be moved up again. Contributed by ISorokaI

Atlas Online

  • Room pins of a generated dungeon readable by players show on the players' page
  • Players see the resource wheels shown to them, not only the bars
  • Explored areas no longer black out while players move on
  • Fixed bug where values typed into a table on the character sheet would disappear
  • Several improvements to mobile UI

Important changes

  • Atlas draws with WebGL only. Where it cannot start, a new notice will display why
